More about Jen
Yoga restores me when I am off balance, feeling unwell or challenged. And when all is well in my world, yoga lifts and inspires me.
I have arrived into this season of living in an aging body with sore joints and a gammy knee and a neck that gets chronically tight.
Yoga provides space to be with my body as she is, to listen and move into the yoga poses that give me what I need this day. Gently mobilising, stretching, strengthening and releasing. I am learning to change complaint about my body into gratitude for the miles she has done, the endless service of complying with all demands I place on her - get me up early today, commute me to work, dig and bend and lift, sit at the desk for hours. And if that’s not enough …. I could scrutinise and judge my body from our western youth culture lens. I might even judge my body as letting me down, betraying me by getting stiff, sore, unwell …..
The yoga mat is the exhale space, where my body says “Thank you, Thank goodness you are taking time for me” and where I am learning to say to my body ‘Thank you. I appreciate you, amazing you.”
I have been teaching yoga since 2000 with a yoga diploma from South Australia’s Yoga Teacher Institute.
I have qualifications in various yoga therapies including restorative yoga, women and breast cancer. I am currently studying yoga therapy for seniors.
I welcome all people from all walks of life to Yogacalm.

Kind words
“Running a small business and life in general for us is always busy. Often we find it hard to wind down and be present and mindful. Jen at YogaCalm has helped us to calm our brain and bodies, help us feel at ease and give us the rest we need. Having only done restorative yoga a handful of times, we can definitely notice a dramatic difference - we’re calmer, more present and feel less stressed and less anxious. I couldn’t recommend Jen at YogaCalm highly enough. Thank you, thank you.”
