Yogacalm is located in Maslin Beach in a yoga studio for up to 6 people. Larger groups and workshops are scheduled in larger local yoga studios.
Yogacalm classes and workshops specialise in personal instruction, adapting yoga to the needs of students. Yoga is modified into easy and accessible movements.
Yoga is taught in gentle hatha style and with the support of yoga props including bolsters, blankets, blocks and chairs.

Yogacalm teaches listening deeply to your body, learning to befriend your body. The focus is on moving from the inside, allowing your body to guide the practice. Simple breathing practices assist in attuning to your body and set the rhythm of movement.
Our bodies are different every day. Our needs change. Some days we need to move and be active in our yoga practice. Other days we need stillness to rest and replenish. Often we need a combination. Yoga practiced with the curiosity, care and focused attention keeps us present to our bodies’ changing needs.
Yoga practices are ancient, well travelled pathways to destinations of greater wellness, peace and the self possession to create more of what you want in your life.

A yogacalm gentle hatha class gently mobilises your joints, including your spine and strengthens your muscles through their full range of movement.

Restorative yoga is a mini holiday, where you can deeply rest and unwind physical, emotional and mental tension.
Yoga for women with breast cancer and in breast cancer recovery
Lots of research has been done to point to specific gentle yoga practices to assist women with supporting the immune system, gently mobilising and recovering from surgery.
Going within
Meditation and breathing practices.
All classes begin and end with attuning inwardly with a mini meditation or guided relaxation. These meditations are practical resources away from the yoga mat too.
I found yoga at a meditation retreat as a young woman. I was surprised by the effect of yoga and meditation - calm and quietness inside of me was something completely new.
Anxiety had been a constant companion throughout my teen years and this effortless peace seemed miraculous to me. Not so surprising, I decided to practice what I had learned every day.
Yoga and meditation are giving me a lifetime of enquiry and are my anchor and wellspring. Now, as an older woman with sore joints and a surgically repaired knee, yoga provides space to be with my body as she is and practice as I need this day. Yoga reminds me to transform complaint into gratitude and to make peace with aging.
I have been teaching yoga since 2000 and I am a forever student. Originally I trained in hatha yoga. Since then I have trained in the yoga I love and that follows my journey including yoga therapies for restorative yoga, yoga for seniors and yoga for women with breast cancer and in recovery.
